This notice explains what personal data Map Versus collects when you use this site or buy from it, who receives it, and your rights.
Who is responsible
Botzone Limited, trading as Map Versus, is the controller of your personal data. 4 Ardmore Green, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, A96 KV9K, Ireland. Email maps@botzone.ai.
When you just browse
This site sets no cookies and has no analytics, trackers or adverts. The surname you type into the search is matched inside your own browser and is not sent to us. Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, handles your IP address to deliver the pages; we do not keep access logs.
When you order
We collect what we need to make and deliver your order: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number if you give one, the product you chose, and the surname you typed for your map. We use it only to make, deliver and support your order, and to keep the records the law requires. We do not send marketing emails, and we never sell your data.
Who receives it
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Dublin) | Your name, email, billing and delivery address, card details, and the surname typed | To take your payment and prevent fraud. We never see your full card number. |
| Gelato (Gelato AS, Oslo, Norway) and its print and delivery partners | Your name, delivery address, email, phone if given, and the print file, which shows the surname | To print and deliver your poster or framed print |
| Amazon Web Services (Ireland) | The print file and, for downloads and vouchers, your email address | To store your print file and send you emails |
For orders delivered to the UK, the US, Canada or Australia, Gelato prints in that country, so your name and address go to its print partner there. This is needed to deliver your order. The UK and Canada are recognised by the EU as protecting personal data; for other countries Gelato uses the EU's standard contract safeguards.
The legal basis
We use your data to carry out our contract with you, and keep order records because tax law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Print files and download files: deleted 90 days after your order.
- Download links: stop working after 7 days.
- Order records (name, address, what you bought, what you paid): 6 years after the end of the tax year of the order, as Irish tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email maps@botzone.ai and we will reply within one month. We delete everything we are not required by law to keep; the order records above are kept until the 6 years are up, and used for nothing else.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or the data protection authority in your own country.
